Il territorio ha un&#8217;estensione pari a 8 km\u00b2 e una spiaggia di 8 km. Confina a sud con il comune di Tropea, a nord con il Comune di Zambrone, a est con il comune di Zaccanopoli e a ovest con il Mar Tirreno. Il paese \u00e8 stato quasi interamente ricostruito negli anni venti in seguito al terremoto del 1905 che rase al suolo Parghelia (solo la Chiesa della SS. Madonna di Portosalvo resistette al sisma). Grazie alle splendide spiagge (Michelino, Vardano e La Grazia tra tutte), alle strutture ricettive delle quali dispone e alla sua vicinanza a Tropea (2 km), \u00e8 divenuta negli anni una meta turistica estiva di richiamo. Parghelia \u00e8 uno dei paesi appartenenti alla Costa degli Dei: tratto di litorale dalla indiscutibile bellezza ricadente nella provincia di Vibo Valentia.
